1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how AnchorForged (“AnchorForged,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use:
- Our websites, including anchorforged.com and applyoptics.com (and related pages);
- ApplyOptics (B2B resume transcription with candidate confirmation; public demo and paid/service paths);
- Chiefly (our iOS leadership app); and
- Contact forms, demos, and marketing we operate.
It does not cover third-party sites or apps we do not control (for example Apple App Store account pages, or ads on Meta / TikTok / LinkedIn once you leave our properties).
No invented compliance badges: We do not claim SOC 2, HIPAA, or similar certifications on this page. If we obtain formal attestations later, we will say so explicitly.

We do not publish EIN or a street address here if not otherwise established for public use; email is the primary contact channel for privacy.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Websites (anchorforged.com, applyoptics.com)
- Contact / inquiry data: name, organization, email, interest area, message content you submit.
- Technical data: IP address, browser/device type, approximate location derived from IP, pages viewed, referrers, and standard server/CDN logs.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 6 (including Cloudflare and security/bot tools such as Turnstile where enabled).
3.2 ApplyOptics — demo and service
- Resume / application materials you or a customer uploads for transcription and structuring (may include names, contact details, work history, education, military/federal career data, and other resume content).
- Candidate confirmation inputs when a candidate reviews or corrects extracted fields.
- Account and workspace data for customers (login identifiers, configuration, usage metrics such as confirmed fills).
- Demo path: the public demo at applyoptics.com/demo is simulated. Treat demo uploads as evaluation data; do not upload secrets you cannot afford to expose.
Process-and-discard intent (where applicable): For certain ApplyOptics flows — especially evaluation/demo and transient processing — we intend to process resume content to produce structured fields and then discard source files and intermediate artifacts when retention is not required for the product feature, customer configuration, security, or law. Production customer workspaces may retain confirmed fields and related records according to the customer’s settings and agreement. We do not use ApplyOptics resume content to build a public people database for sale.
Product honesty: ApplyOptics transcribes and structures; it does not score, rank, or recommend candidates.
3.3 Chiefly (iOS)
- Account or device identifiers needed to run the app;
- Content you enter for coaching, journaling, Note Taker, or meeting-capture features;
- Diagnostic / usage data typical for app reliability;
- Purchase and subscription status as mediated by Apple (we do not receive your full payment card number from Apple).
Chiefly content can be sensitive to you personally; we process it to provide the feature you request, not to sell profiles.
3.4 Marketing
If you interact with our ads or social campaigns (Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, or similar), those platforms may share aggregated or event-level signals with us (for example campaign performance). If you message us on those platforms, the platform’s rules also apply.
4. How we use information
- Provide, secure, and improve Sites and Services;
- Run ApplyOptics transcription / candidate confirmation and related customer features;
- Operate Chiefly coaching and productivity features;
- Respond to inquiries and provide support;
- Measure site performance and prevent abuse (bots, spam, fraud);
- Send transactional messages; send marketing only where permitted;
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.
5. How we share information
We share personal information with service providers who process it on our instructions, including categories such as:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, financing, or sale of assets (with appropriate safeguards).
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not sell PII as a business model. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in a way we treat as a “sale” or “share” under California law if we can avoid it; if that changes, we will update this Policy and provide required opt-out mechanisms.
6. Cookies, Turnstile, and similar technologies
We and our processors may use cookies, local storage, pixels, and security challenges:
- Essential: load balancing, session continuity, CSRF/bot protection;
- Cloudflare Turnstile (where enabled): helps distinguish humans from bots without traditional CAPTCHA friction; may involve device/browser signals processed by Cloudflare;
- Analytics / marketing: only if we enable them; platform pixels (Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn) may set cookies when you visit pages that include those tags.
You can control cookies through your browser. Blocking essential cookies may break forms or logins.
7. Retention
We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes above:
- Contact inquiries: typically retained to respond and keep a business record, then deleted or minimized when no longer needed;
- ApplyOptics resumes / intermediates: process-and-discard intent for transient and demo paths; customer production retention follows customer configuration, contracts, and legal holds;
- Chiefly content: while your account/app data remains active, plus a short period after deletion for backups/security unless law requires longer;
- Logs: shorter operational windows unless needed for security investigation.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to our size and the sensitivity of data we handle (HTTPS, access controls, fail-closed integration design where credentials are missing). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Report suspected vulnerabilities or incidents to tim@anchorforged.com.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (for example certain U.S. state privacy laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, or to opt out of certain processing. To exercise a request, email tim@anchorforged.com with enough detail for us to verify and locate your data. We will respond as required by applicable law.
If you are a candidate whose resume was submitted by an employer customer, we may need to route your request through that customer when they are the controller of the hiring record.
Marketing opt-out: use unsubscribe links where provided, or email us. App Store subscription management is handled in Apple settings.
10. Children
Our Sites and Services are directed to adults and organizations. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where that is the relevant standard). If you believe a child provided information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. International users
We are based in the United States. If you access the Services from elsewhere, you understand information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our processors operate, which may have different data-protection rules than your home country.
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” will change when we post updates. Material changes will be highlighted on this page or communicated by email when appropriate.
